     The Howrah Bridge   The Howrah Bridge on the river Hooghly is an example of modern engineering marvel . It is in fact a cantilever span bridge .  It is built on supports on both sides of and cantilevers spread out from those supports and are connected together in between.  Since there is no support in between the river, it does not get affected in respect of transportation . It has arms of different lengths.  One arm is 564 ft. long. Each of the two cantilever arms is 468 ft . long and each of the anchor arms is 325 ft. long . t was constructed with 27000 tons of tensile steel. The cost of the construction was Rs. 32 Lacs. The total length of the bridge is 2,150 ft.   It took 6 years to completed the construction . It is known as the fourth largest bridge in the world .  It was opened for public on 28th February , in the year 1943 . The Howrah Bridge is used to link Howrah ( and other parts of the country ) with Kolkata ....

                     MY HOBBY

Hobby is the work that a person pursues or performs only for pleasure, without being compelled to do it. Different persons have different types of hobbies. 


MY FAVORITE HOBBY  - 

My favorite hobby is making articles with waste household materials. In my early childhood one of my uncle inspired me to make DIY toys from paper. By and by I got really interested in making useful DIY articles. 



CREATIVE HELPERS OF ME-

Hobbies are makes one really creative. So, I like to get involved with my hobby whenever I get the ideal situation. I study books and journals related to my hobby and often discuss with like-minded people in order to cultivate my hobby. 

People related to science clubs and cultural institutions also help me in a great way. It must be admitted that they encouraged me in a great way to go on with my job. 


MY HOBBY LIFE - 

When I am able to make an useful article from wasted-objects, I become immensely happy and satisfied. The wasted-objects are transformed into articles which can be utilized by others. 

Moreover, I feel myself innovative and I also get self-educated in this way. So, I like my hobby very much.
